A Hollywood Republican

This blog is for an open discussion on politics. My views will be to the right as will be most of the posters. But, we are willing to post alternative viewpoints as lons as they are well thought out. I started this in response to the Obama election and will continue it as long as it feeds a need.

Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval

Well, the lines for Obama have finally crossed. His job approval is lower than his disapproval. As a friend of mine has been saying: "Hooray for Change."

Gallup Daily: Obama Job Approval

These are the times that try men’s souls. That black man had every right to express himself, he was embracing our constitutionally sacred right of free speech, his beliefs were obviously passionate, maybe he was justifiably even mad, angry, upset, distraught as he waded into that tea party demonstration and lectured the masses on the evils of the Bush administration and the obvious wrong headedness of that particular gathering, a display of Americanism. And then he crossed the line, he pushed and showed a woman, a wife, a mother of a child and the father in restrained reaction, stepped in-between that man and his woman, his wife, the mother of his children, he defended, he pushed back, protected his family, pressed the man away from his wife and stood up for his version of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And then he was cold cocked. And it is all on tape, several version of tape, clear, in focus and undeniable. The only evil left is interpretation. And as Lenny Bruce once said when caught in the act of cheating on his wife, do you believe me or your lying eyes. There is the very extreme, manipulated, remote possibility that what we saw did not happen, or did not happen the way we say it. And the courts will decide. But why are we silent now, no dialogue on racism, no anger at the passionate, angry display of emotion over issue of national importance, issues that at one point in our history caused the shot that was heard around the world, which seems to be favored by many on this blog, with the exception of one honest man. I dare say we are cowards and that has to, no it must change. This battle, my friends is on, and it will not ever be won with too few bombs, that fear of matching the enemies strength will equal or superior strength. These bombs may never have to be dropped, God willing, but the evil that exist must believe, they must fear, they must not have any intellectual hesitation, they must be without any reasonable doubt, that we will fight, we will defend mother Liberty, we will act if we have to. Be peaceful, be forceful, be angry and never, never, never forget the doctrine of rational, justifiable survival and self defense in the name of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. We once left tyranny back in England and it is us. And that doubt, even displayed within this blog, framed by the mostly unchallenged, in the past, anti Semitism of the Helen Thomas affair, symbolized by this recent event within our culture, is a most troubling doubt that tries our souls. And we called ourselves Hollywood Republicans. Is that because we only “make” movies, add commentary and offer up intellectual blogs?

As I said before to other commenters on this blog...don't assume because we don't talk about it that we never physically took part in dissent. I always have and still do believe "talk is cheap" and "put your money where your mouth is". I have actively participated numerous times in the past and will do, if necessary, in the future. But I will do it when I feel the time is right not when others do and the only person I need to answer to for that is "Me". Don't assume we are cowards because we write about our dissatisfaction more than yell in public about it. I still believe "The pen is mightier than the sword." How about you?
